The Arizona Diamondbacks had a good time in Mesa on Monday, defeating the Chicago Cubs 9-1. Today they got to face their former teammate Randy Johnson, in Scottsdale, against the San Francisco Giants. The Big Unit struck out seven batters en route to a 7-6 victory.
Starting pitcher Doug Davis took care of every batter he faced on Tuesday, although he revealed he’s been dealing with an arm condition for about 5 years and has been on medication since. Hmmm, ok. Why are we finding out about this now? Although, it must not be too serious or we’d have already know about it. I liken this story to a couple of years ago when Livan Hernandez decided to share he’d pitch even with diarrhea. Nice. I was looking for something to surprise us this spring. Although not as grotesque, just as equally surprising.
