Welcome the Atlanta Braves to town. Yippee!
After allowing the San Diego Padres to come in and score yet another series win for an opponent at Chase Field, now the Arizona Diamondbacks welcome the Braves into their home. The way the bullpen has been pitching, the Braves should be excited they get to play here for four games starting tonight at 6:40pm. Tonight’s matchup is Dan Haren vs. Derek Lowe, who pretty much owned the Dbacks last season as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Don’t think it’s too much to ask to have Haren pitch a complete game tonight do you? [...]

This is getting old.
After another outstanding performance by an Arizona Diamondbacks starter, on this night Max Scherzer, the bullpen came in and almost blew another one. However they managed to defeat the San Diego Padres 6-5 in spite of themselves. It was close though. Real close. The Padres Kevin Kouzmanoff sent a ride to deep right center field with a runner on third in the ninth only to fly out and help the Dbacks snap the Padres 10 game winning streak.
The kid Scherzer was just outstanding. Not only did he strike out 10 at the plate, he also had 2 [...]
Get Well CoJack!
Conor Jackson is unsure how long he is going to be out with a current bout of Valley Fever. It has left him fatigued, even out of breath just going from the clubhouse to the dugout. It’s a rough illness.
My wife had the same illness 4 1/2 years ago and it took her a couple of months to get her strength back. The illness even included a one week hospitalization. It literally sucks the life out of you. For someone as athletic and normally healthy as Jackson, you know the going has to be real rough for him right now.
Here’s [...]
Happy Memorial Day everyone!
I’m taking time to sit back and reflect on the reasons why today most of us are off of work and spending time with friends and family instead. I’ll admit, sitting back and taking a look at the calendar a couple of weeks ago, I was very excited that I had a Monday off from the daily grind of my job. This was a chance to sleep in, get in some play time with my nearly two year old son.
Then it hit me. This is a day we should be remembering those who have sacrificed so much [...]
You used to be able to say there is no place like home. Lately, for the Arizona Diamondbacks, there is no place like the road. The Dbacks, fresh off a 6-3 road trip, return home to face the San Diego Padres at 12:40 today at Chase Field.
This is the time to seize the opportunity to start making a move up the standings chart. With the Padres riding a nine game winning streak and the Dodgers still comfortably resting in first place, it will be nothing short of a large uphill climb, however there is still time to reverse the damage [...]
These are the new Arizona Diamondbacks.
Now eight games into this road trip, the Dbacks are now 6-2 and easily could be 8-0. Tonight in Oakland they won again by fighting back after being down. Down 5-1 in the eighth inning the Dbacks came up with four big runs to tie the game and eventually come away with a big 8-7 win in 11 innings over the Oakland A’s.
After Justin Upton was taken down to the ground by A’s pitcher Santiago Casilla on a huge brush back pitch, things turned for the better as Upton started a three run rally that [...]
Well that was the most fun I’ve had all season, how about you?
They are still a long way from being decent, much less good, however a win is a win and you take it everyday. So far, the Arizona Diamondbacks can say they have taken four days like that in the past week. After splitting the two games in Atlanta, the Dbacks went to Florida this week and took three of four from the Marlins at Landshark Stadium.
The Dbacks faced it all over the past week. In house fighting, between Doug Davis and A.J. Hinch. They faced rain, in both [...]
Still a lot of details to come forward, however KTAR sports in Phoenix is reporting that the wife of Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Scott Schoeneweis was found dead in their Fountain Hills home today.
Stay tuned for more details as they emerge. Tragic story to what is a growing list of sad stories surrounding this team…
The rain is starting to become the Arizona Diamondbacks best opponent. Count that now as three straight game days without a loss. They have now been rained out two days in a row. I suppose that’s one way to avoid more losses. You know, eventually a sunny day or a roof will find them and unfortunately they will have to go out and play nine.
The Dbacks were down 1-0 to the Florida Marlins in the fourth inning and not looking like they were getting anything going once again for hard luck Dan Haren, who deserves a better offense behind him.
Maybe [...]
