The Dbacks have finished out their home portion of the 2009 schedule. Now they finish out the season with six games on the road, three at the San Francisco Giants and three at the Chicago Cubs this weekend. All I can say is thank goodness. It’s been a long season, a very long one.
Doug Davis will take the mound tonight. As we know not much has gone right with the Dbacks this season. Many of us have already forgotten they are still playing. With football in full swing, the Dbacks have taken the back burner on the news for several weeks now. It didn’t have to be this way.
What to watch for in the final week:
- Will Chris Young finish above .200?
- Mark Reynolds and his quest for 50 Home Runs. It’ll be tough, he has 6 to go.
- Will this be the last week in a Dbacks uniform for Eric Byrnes?
- Can Dan Haren win his 15th game and can he get his ERA under 3.00 to finish the season? He’s currently at 3.02.
These are just some of the questions to be answered. There are so many questions. Let them play the week out and then we can start looking to 2010.
