The Dbacks yesterday named Billy Buckner their minor league pitcher of the year for this past season. Well, the pickins must have been slim. Buckner may have been lights out in the minors, however outside of two good starts, he was mediocre at best with the parent club.
Buckner threw a great start in his first start in Oakland this summer, however he was shelled in several other appearances. I would have a better time watching grass grow or cows graze than watching Buckner. Nevertheless, I guess it means something and maybe we can see some of what he did in the minors in 2009 translate into wins with the Dbacks in 2010.
