Dbacks Fans Should Revolt like Colts Fans

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Diamondbacks, Fanzone, off topic | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

You’ve undoubtedly heard about the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts and their march towards “imperfection” this past Sunday when they pulled all their starters in favor of resting for the playoffs and how an Indianapolis City Councilman has called for fan refunds.  I love it.  It’s a great idea.  As I sat here, I thought about all the reasons the Dbacks fans could do the same.

The roof.  Why in God’s name do we want the roof open, even at night, in June when the temperature hit 107 outside?  103 in the shade at night still sucks!  The sun might not be on [...]

Dbacks Reportedly Sign Kelly Johnson

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Breaking News, Diamondbacks, Fanzone, News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Depending on who you believe, it appears the Arizona Diamondbacks have signed second baseman Kelly Johnson.
I knew this day was probably coming, but I have to ask why?  I know Johnson has the ability to break out and be a star, maybe, but he was a defensive and offensive liability for the Atlanta Braves last year, hence the reason they chose not to re-sign him.
What this ultimately means is the end of the Augie Ojeda era in Arizona.  Most likely this means his trade is forthcoming.  Too bad.  Ojeda didn’t put up the biggest numbers, however what he did do [...]

Dbacks Sign Another Reliever

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Diamondbacks, Fanzone, News | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Arizona Diamondbacks continue their sign anyone who is available and doesn’t cost and arm and a leg strategy, as they have signed reliever Bob Howry.  Howry had a 3.39 ERA last season in San Francisco.
They say they are still waiting and seeing what will happen with former Dback Jose Valverde.  Hmmm…
Just amazing.  I have nothing against the pickup of Howry, but is just seems to me they are willing to take anyone who can pickup a baseball and can do it with average success.  I realize there aren’t 10 Albert Pujols or Mariano Rivera’s out there, but also, the [...]

If You Have a Pulse, the Dbacks May be Calling

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Diamondbacks, Fanzone, News | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

It sounds like Arizona Diamondbacks General Manager Josh Byrnes is willing to sign just about anyone up these days.  After last weeks “blockbuster” trade, obtaining pitchers Edwin Jackson and Ian Kennedy, the Dbacks are not through apparently.
Now they’ve turned their attention to Atlanta Braves free-agent second baseman Kelly Johnson and Pittsburgh Pirates free-agent pitcher Matt Capps. Really?  Why do we need Johnson?  He was a huge prospect a few years ago who showed a lot of promise.  He’s sort of slipped off the radar the past couple of years.  Did you notice the picture that azcentral.com showed of him in [...]

Proposed Three-Way Deal Not Good For Dbacks

AUTHOR: Scott Allen | IN: Breaking News, Diamondbacks, Fanzone, News | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

By now you’ve heard about the proposed on again off again deal involving the Diamondbacks, Tigers, and Yankees.  In the deal, the Diamondbacks would get pitchers Edwin Jackson and Ian Kennedy.  In return, the Dbacks send pitcher Max Scherzer and Daniel Schlereth.  Please say it ain’t so Josh Byrnes!!!
Don’t get me wrong, I like Jackson.  I don’t like the money situation.  If the Dbacks get Jackson, they are on the hook for some serious money.  So much so, it probably leaves them out of the running for any more free agents in this off-season.  What is also does is it [...]
