Just read some info, which is not confirmed, that AAA Reno pitcher Clay Zavada, who had a successful season with the Arizona Diamondbacks last year, will be undergoing Tommy John surgery. If this is true, it will be a great loss. His ERA in Reno was 30.00, so that would explain a lot of what was going on with him and why he struggled in spring training, not making the big league team in Phoenix.
Recovery and rehab time is usually a year or more, so we may not see Zavada until later in 2011 or even later than that.
Get well soon!
