Diamondbacks Finding New Ways To Lose Everyday

Just when you thought you had seen it all, then a rare event occurred last night causing the Arizona Diamondbacks to lose to the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4.

Dbacks reliver Esmerling Vazquez, who relieved starter Rodrigo Lopez, who pitched very well last night, pitched the ninth for the loss.  That he lost the game and couldn’t keep the game tied is not the surprise.  In fact, it shouldn’t have even been a tie game, however second baseman Kelly Johnson committed two errors on the same play allowing two Dodgers to score in the eighth inning to tie the game.

Vazquez, rattled by the dancing Casey Blake on thrid base, balked in the winning run.  Amazing.  It doesn’t happen very often.  Last time the Dodgers won a game on a balk? That would be against the Mets in 1989.

It’s almost as if you expect something to happen at the end of games to cause another Dbacks loss.  Honestly, as old as it gets, it is rather amusing to see how the Dbacks can botch a game.  Walk off hits, blow outs, errors, and now the walk off balk.  Only the Arizona Diamondbacks.

I’m looking forward to seeing how the Dbacks lose their ninth in a row tonight.
