Maybe these Arizona Diamondbacks trade pickups are worth something? Joe Saunders pitched a complete game tonight, giving up one run, in defeating the Washington Nationals 6-1.
Mark Reynolds hit a three-run homer and also got beaned in the head and had to leave early, but seems to be ok. The story though was the second straight great start for Saunders. Saunders unfortunately didn’t the run support in his first start, but tonight got more than enough.
- Stephen Drew extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a solo home run
- Adam Laroche had another nice offensive evening, going 3-4 at the plate
Hopefully tomorrow night the Dbacks won’t get head hunting. Although known for his wildness, Nats pitcher Collin Balester appeared not to be throwing at Reynolds head. It should make for an interesting evening though. Memories of opposing teams are not short when it comes to things like that.
