Barry Enright is the man. He has still only had one bad outing in his short two months in Arizona.
Enright out-pitched Colorado Rockies pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez on Saturday night en route to a 3-1 victory. The only offense was provided by Justin Upton. He had two hits, a double and a 2-run homer that was the deciding factor.
Last night the Dbacks won 4-3 in extra innings. It is nice to see the Arizona Diamondbacks win back to back games, especially within the division. If they keep this up, the may even avoid losing 100. Let’s not hold our breath though.
Tonight, Upton scored on a wild pitch for the game’s first run. The story on the mound though continues o be Enright. He most definitely has secured himself a spot in the rotation for 2011, barring any major meltdown. I can’t wait to see this guy pitch for a whole season.
Along with Enright, last night Ian Kennedy finally pitched halfway decent. He would have been tagged with the loss if not for the ninth inning comeback, but didn’t pitch as bad as his previous several outings. Now, I can’t wait to see what Hudson can give the Dbacks tomorrow as they go for the series sweep.
