Offense Not an Issue

August 10, 2010- Milwaukee, WI. Miller Park..Arizona Diamondbacks Adam LaRoche gets ready for the next pitch, LaRoche two hits against the Brewers including a double off of Brewers starter Manny Parra..Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 1-2..Mike McGinnis / CSM.

If you take a look at the Arizona Diamondbacks players and where some of them stand in the National League statistics leaders you'd never guess that they were one of the worst teams in baseball.  Then you look at their bullpen and you know immediately why that is the case.

The offense has struggled at times sure.  The problem hasn't been hitting in general, well for the most part anyways.  It's been timely hitting, hitting with runners on base.  That compounds the issue the Dbacks have with their bullpen.  Thank your lucky stars the Dbacks never got rid of Adam Laroche or Kelly Johnson.  Both have been great additions.  Laroche has finally come around and provided the offense most thought he would produce when he was signed in the off-season.

Some of the guys who are hot:

Adam Laroche - 23 home runs, 87 RBI.  His 87 RBI are good enough for 3rd-best in the NL.

Stephen Drew - 16-28 with 4 homers on last road trip.  You kidding?  16-28?  That's impressive!

Not hot:

Miguel Montero - he has seen his batting average drop 22 points in the past 10 games

Rusty Ryal - 3-20 in the last 10 games with only 1 RBI
