NL Rookie of the Month Takes Mound

Daniel Hudson, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher and NL Rookie of the Month…and rightfully so.

Hudson has been nothing short of outstanding since being traded from the Chicago White Sox in July.  The 4-1 rookie pitcher has made it into the seventh inning in every start so far.  He takes the mound tonight once again, against the Houston Astros.

I would love to see Hudson stick it to the Astros.  He is well on his way to the 2011 rotation.  I look forward to getting out and watching him at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale in March and then next season at Chase Field.  I think it is safe to say that Hudson has given the Arizona Diamondbacks the better end of the deal for Edwin Jackson.  I liked Jackson.  Even got to meet him.  Nice guy.  Right now though, this team needs good pitchers, not nice guys. I’m sure Hudson is a nice guy too though.

To me I just don’t know why Hudson didn’t pitch this well with the White Sox?  Well, their loss is our gain.  To think that without the struggles of Jackson, we would not get to see Hudson in action.  Jackson’s sturggles with his time in a Diamondbacks uniform may have just been a blessing in disguise.
