Armando Galarraga did something the previous four starters this season could not do - get a win. He pitched 7.1 innings today en route to a 6-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs in Chicago to finish the opening week road trip at 2-3.
Chris Young was the star today, hitting a double and triple and making a couple of nice defensive plays. Another star Willie Bloomquist, continued his hot hitting, going 2-5. His batting average to date is .348, making for a nice situation when Stephen Drew returns from his injury.
As for Galarraga, he did well today. He managed to pitch well while his offense was hitting behind him, two things the Dbacks haven't been able to put together at the same time since the season started.
Now the Dbacks return home for their opening home series starting Friday against the Cincinnati Reds. Ian Kennedy gets the start on Friday.
