We know the Arizona Diamondbacks pitching is missing and missing badly. However, the Diamondbacks offense is alive. They may be giving up runs at an alarming rate, but they are scoring enough on offense where most normal teams would be 8-3, maybe 9-2 at this point instead of the Dbacks record of 5-6. That's the Dbacks for you though.
The Dbacks have six players hitting .300 or better:
Miguel Montero: .444
Russell Branyan: .421
Stephen Drew: .360
Willie Bloomquist: .349
Ryan Roberts: .333
Xavier Nady: .300
Branyan is continuing right where he left off from spring training. Montero is turning into the hitter I thought we'd see last season before he missed two month to injury. Bloomquist has hit safely in every game he has played in so far.
Chris Young, Justin Upton - 3
Miguel Montero, Ryan Roberts - 2
It seems the long ball may not be an issue with this team after all. Through 11 games, the Dbacks have 14 HR's as a team.
Young - 11
Upton - 8
Drew, Roberts - 6
It's early, but the Dbacks are hitting with runners in scoring position more often. It's a good sign. Let's just hope it's for real and this just isn't an April mirage.
