Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Daniel Hudson is on a roll. It just wasn't a mirage and the voters for NL Player of the Week agree. Hudson, who was 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in two starts this past week, won his first award.
A well deserved honor. Hudson has really got his game going after an early rough start to the season. Hudson developed a bad habit of getting in early game trouble, particularly in the first inning. However, after starting the season 0-4, Hudson is now 5-5 and well on his way to solidifying the #2 spot in the rotation for quite some time.
Hudson's recognition can also be considered reason to believe people are starting to recognize the Dbacks in general. Funny how winning does that for you. I'm ready to accept the Dbacks as NL West contenders, for now. They need more consistency in the bullpen and need to find a solid 5th starter. They are well on their way.
