Dbacks Looking to Strike Gold in MLB Amateur Draft

We are only 5 days away from the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft.  The Arizona Diamondbacks look to strike gold as they own the 3rd and 7th picks of the first round.  You should expect gold.  After last years bust, Barret Loux (which is the reason for the 2nd pick at #7), failed to sign, this year fans are demanding the Dbacks do their homework to get it right this time.  Something tells me they will be just fine.

Some names to watch out for at #3 and #7:

Trevor Bauer, P - UCLA.  Not only can he throw a fastball close to 100, he has also been compared to San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum.  Bauer has also publicly stated his desire to stay out west and would love to play for the Dbacks.  There is a possibility if they don't take him at #3, might be around for #7

Danny Hultzen, P - Virginia.  Hultzen was a 10th round pick of the Dbacks in 2008 and opted to go to college instead.  Do the Dbacks take another chance on this lefty?  They liked him once.

Jed Bradley, P - Georgia Tech.  Another lefty who could be the second choice if Hultzen is gone when it is the Dbacks turn.

Other possibles: Taylor Jungmann, P, Texas A&MGerrit Cole, P, UCLA; Francisco Lindor, SS, Montverde Academy

Last year’s debacle was a Texas A&M Aggie not a Texas Longhorn.
