The Arizona Diamondbacks selected UCLA's Trevor Bauer with the number 3 pick in the first round of the 2011 MLB First Year Player Draft. Many view this pick as a surprise, however after studying this guy and hearing how much even Bauer himself felt about playing for the Dbacks, it was inevitable.
Bauer, who compares pitching wise to the San Francisco Giants Tim Lincecum, was the second UCLA player to go in the first three picks. UCLA pitcher Gerrit Cole went first to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bauer is 13-2 with a 1.25 ERA this season.
The Dbacks have one more first round pick at #7. Stay tuned.
