He’s the captain of the AL Home Run Derby team. David Ortiz, “Big Papi” he is affectionately called, a member of the Boston Red Sox. He has 18 home runs so far this season. His season high is 54 back in 2006. He has 367 career HR’s, so I think he is more than qualified to be the captain.
He has hit at least 20 HR in each of the last nine seasons and is just those 2 HR shy of doing it again this season. I hope the AL loses, but he is sure fun to watch.
