Diamondbacks Roster Review: Alberto Castillo

As we head into the second half of the season, it is time to take a look at the current roster before all the possible trades and roster moves are made as the Arizona Diamondbacks continue to contend for a possible NL West divisional title. Next Up – Alberto Castillo.

Castillo: 1-0, 1.93 ERA

Review:  Jury is still out.  He has only thrown 4.2 innings so far since being recalled from AAA Reno.  I can tell you this, he hasn’t earned his way back to Reno yet.  I need to see more, but so far so good.  Not much to write home about just yet.

Outlook:  Speaking of that jury….Castillo could end up being a victim of a numbers game if the Dbacks find some veteran bullpen help out on the trade market.  Theoretically he could end up being part of a trade.  For immediate future, he stays unless someone better comes along.
