The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled Barry Enright from AAA Reno. It is a move not unexpected with the recent struggles of Dbacks starter Zach Duke, who will now be known as Dbacks reliever Zach Duke.
A corresponding move has not been announced yet for the Dbacks. Enright, who started off the year very slowly and struggled throughout much of April, was sent to AAA to work on his game. Enright was 8-2 with a 4.02 ERA in Reno. Not exactly the type of ERA that blows you away, however the higher ERA, thanks to some home runs, according to the Dbacks manager Kirk Gibson, is a byproduct of Reno’s smaller field. Let’s hope that’s the case.
Enright was frustrating to watch in April however he had a great attitude about going down and taking care of business. Hopefully he can help a struggling lower end of a starting rotation that is starting to show its wear a little. Enright will get his first start back on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
