The past two seasons, the shoe was on the other foot. Ever since blowing an almost all-season lead to the Los Angeles Dodgers in September 2008, the Dodgers have been the ones coming into late season series with the Arizona Diamondbacks as the ones looking for the must wins. Now, it’s the Dbacks turn and it feels great.
The Dbacks begin a three-game set against a team they have been very familiar with over the past three weeks. This will be the third series against the Dodgers since the All-Star break. Nothing like making up for lost time.
It is vital the Dbacks win this series as they have with each of the past two series with the San Francisco Giants in the midst of a tough four game set against the Philadelphia Phillies. Friday night will be the home debut for Paul Goldschmidt. In a hitter-friendly park like Chase Field, pardon the pun, but he should have a field day at the plate. I, for one, am looking forward to it. You should be too.
