Third Quarter Dbacks Review: Ian Kennedy

With now just under 40 games left in the regular season, we are in the home stretch, the final quarter of the 2011 season. It is time to review the current Arizona Diamondbacks roster to look at what they’ve accomplished, where they are now, and what they can provide, if anything, in the final six-plus weeks of the National League West pennant race. Next up: Ian Kennedy

What he’s accomplished: 15-3, 3.12 ERA, National League Cy Young Award candidate.

What he’s doing now: The clear ace of the rotation.  Just seems to be getting better with every start.

What he means to the Dbacks run to the pennant: Everything.  He is the ace.  It all starts and ends with him on the pitching end of things.  If there is no Ian Kennedy, there is no pennant race, period.
