With now just under 40 games left in the regular season, we are in the home stretch, the final quarter of the 2011 season. It is time to review the current Arizona Diamondbacks roster to look at what they’ve accomplished, where they are now, and what they can provide, if anything, in the final six-plus weeks of the National League West pennant race. Next up: Henry Blanco
What he’s accomplished: Has played in 29 games as the backup to Miguel Montero. Hitting .228, 5 HR, 8 RBI
What he’s doing now: Doesn’t play much but when he does, he provides a solid outing behind the plate. Has occasional power.
What he means to the Dbacks run to the pennant: His experience should not be downplayed. He’s been around and probably the best backup Montero could have asked for this season.
