Dbacks Open Flood Gates, Whip Nationals 8-1

So, there are the Arizona Diamondbacks I’ve come to love and know.  They scored 8 runs on 14 hits on Thursday night en route to a 8-1 whipping of the Washington Nationals.  For awhile though, it didn’t appear they would be scorning much again.  It was 0-0 until the top of the 6th when Chris Young belted his 18th home run of the season.  From there, everything was icing on the cake.

Starter Wade Miley got his first victory.  After pitching a poor game against the Atlanta Braves last Saturday, he pitched very well this time around. He went six strong innings to get the win.

What I liked was almost everyone contributed to this win.  Paul Goldschmidt hit his 5th homer of the season.  It is a nice cap to a rough road trip.  The Dbacks ended up going 4-6 on the road trip after starting 1-6.  A nice rebound and now get to come home.  Too bad it was a late game in D.C.  Hopefully they won’t be dragging tomorrow night against the San Diego Padres.
