You can’t get much better than perfect. Six games. Six wins. The Arizona Diamondbacks finished a perfect homestand by beating the Colorado Rockies 4-2 on Wednesday night. The Dbacks have won nine games in a row for the first time since 2003. These Dbacks are on a roll. Oh yeah, and they just set a franchise record for consecutive home wins at 12.
Tonight most of the damage was done in the first inning on Miguel Montero‘s three-run homer. The Dbacks added a run in a the sixth. They had two more runners gunned down at the plate. They may not have scored at least six runs on Wednesday, but they were aggressive. I love it.
The pitching was very good once again. Josh Collmenter went six innings for the win and is now 9-8, going back over .500 for the season. The bullpen held on to the lead for him, which included the 35th save of the season for J.J. Putz.
Now it time for a six-game road trip, which starts on Friday against the San Francisco Giants. The Dbacks maintain a six game lead on the Giants with tonight’s win. I can’t wait for this weekend’s series. Bring it on!
