Not that I expected anything on it today, but the Arizona Diamondbacks National League Division Series roster has not been released yet. I would expect to hear something tomorrow on it. They have already landed in Wisconsin to play the Milwaukee Brewers. This much I know – Sean Burroughs is on the roster. There is a picture of him high-fiving Dbacks employees boarding the bus this afternoon on the way to the airport.
The real mysteries will be the number of pitchers the Dbacks Will Carry and the status of Geoff Blum. Manager Kirk Gibson had said earlier this week he expected Blum to be on the roster, but we’ll see until something is made official. Blum can be a real asset off the bench with his playoff experience.
What will also be interesting is which pitchers the Dbacks will bring with them. Do the Dbacks use the 60-day DL loophole to place Jarrod Parker on the roster? Again, we’ll see. Would be a bold move to use a guy who has all of one game under his belt. This much we do know, Ian Kennedy is pitching on Saturday and that I am looking forward to.
