Fansided’s minor league site, Seedlings to Stars recently took a look at current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jarrod Parker. Parker, who was called up in late September, pitched so well in his Major League debut as a starter, he was added to the Dbacks bullpen for the National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The piece talks about Parker’s rise from his 2010 Tommy John surgery. While the writer of the piece was no particularly impressed with Parker in the minors, he does see the potential. I see it too and I think the Dbacks got a great glimpse of it in his start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. I think it’s impressive to make your debut in a start at the end of the season, be so good in just five innings, that you are added to a playoff roster. I think it speaks volumes to what the Dbacks think of Parker’s potential.
