So the mourning period for the Arizona Diamondbacks 2011 season is over. The postseason is finally over as well and now it is time to start looking ahead to 2012, especially since the season starts in like 18 seconds. It’s a short off-season. We are just shy of four months till pitchers and catchers report. So it is time to review the current roster, look at what they did in 2011 and what the prospects are for 2012. Next up: Joe Saunders
2011 review: Joe Saunders’ spring looked as if that would be as far as his Dbacks career would take him in 2011. He was awful. He didn’t start the season out much better, however Saunders ended up pitching rather decent in 2011. Saunders also happens to be the highest paid player on the roster. He finished with a record of 12-13 with a 3.69 ERA.
2012 preview: Unknown would probably be the word as to Saunders status for 2012 with the Dbacks. He’s a lefty who had a decent season. He is also making a lot of money, however he was serviceable and could be trade bait as well. A lot will depend on how the rotation shakes out in March, if he makes it that long.
