So the mourning period for the Arizona Diamondbacks 2011 season is over. The postseason is finally over as well and now it is time to start looking ahead to 2012, especially since the season starts in like 18 seconds. It’s a short off-season. We are just shy of four months till pitchers and catchers report. So it is time to review the current roster, look at what they did in 2011 and what the prospects are for 2012. Next up: Ryan Roberts
2011 review: “Tatman” Ryan Roberts had a tale of three seasons in one. He started out hot in April, so much so people were considering him as a write-in vote for the All-Star team. Then he hit a huge lull in the middle of the season. He started to pick things back up in August, especially finding himself as the everyday third baseman at that point. He ended up hitting .249 with 19 home runs and 65 RBI in 143 games played.
2012 preview: I have no doubt he is a member of the Dbacks in 2012. Personally, I think he is still good enough to be an everyday player however that has been up for debate amongst some. Free agency signings will dictate what Roberts does in 2012 however at worst he is a fill-in player who should be part of a solid bench. At best, he plays everyday and has the potential to put up even better numbers than he did in 2011.
