Bloomquist Appears on the Way Out

Liar liar pants on fire.  Yeah, I’m calling agent Scott Boras names.  He is blaming the Arizona Diamondbacks for the Willie Bloomquist split after he declined his option last week.  Boras said he called the Dbacks.  The Dbacks say it ain’t so according to a report that was just published on azcentral.com.  As far as I’m concerned, no one should have Boras as an agent.  The Dbacks have had problems with him in the past, so this does not come as much of a surprise.

So, the Dbacks went out and re-signed John McDonald.  To me it spoke volumes on a couple of players that the Dbacks signed McDonald so fast to a multi-year deal.  One of those guys was Bloomquist.  It would be a shame to see him go, but it may in fact be the case of a numbers game.

Bloomquist was a great asset to the Dbacks in the 2010 season.  He is not an everyday player and clearly proved as the Dbacks traded for McDonald in August.  I wish him well and would love to see something worked out here, but Bloomquist will want more money and he just won’t get it here in Arizona.
