Arizona Diamondbacks 2012: A Look at Shortstop

With the 2012 season just about 2 1/2 months from kicking off with pitchers and catchers, it is time to take a look at how the Arizona Diamondbacks stack up by position. Next I look at shortstop, a position that could be up for grabs depending on a lot of factors. This may more one of the most uncertainties this team faces in the off-season.
Starter possibilities: Stephen Drew, John McDonald, Willie Bloomquist
This position is all about the health of Drew, who had his season ended prematurely in 2011 in July with a broken ankle. Rumor has it there is a possibility he may not be ready by spring training. Even if he is ready, he may not be able to fill the shoes at shortstop any longer, meaning a new position for him.
If Drew can’t go, McDonald is probably the guy with Bloomquist getting some action.
