Arizona Diamondbacks 2012: A Look at the Outfield

With the 2012 season just about 2 1/2 months from kicking off with pitchers and catchers, it is time to take a look at how the Arizona Diamondbacks stack up by position.  Next up, a look at the outfield, which you would expect to be settled for the most part, and it is, however things could change via trade if the Dbacks happen to find another bat.

Starters: Justin Upton, Chris Young, Gerardo Parra

Backup: Collin Cowgill, Willie Bloomquist, Cole Gillespie

Long shot: David Winfree

Justin Upton in right, Chris Young in center.  They are the two for sure starters.  I think there is still a jury out there on Gerardo Parra.  I’m not sure why.  He hit .292 with 8 HR, 46 RBI.  Hitting mostly from the eighth spot, he was money most of the time, although he hit a slight slump in August that had his manager practically begging for more hits in big situations.  If there was one spot the Dbacks could be looking to upgrade, it could be in left field.  Although with the Gold Glove Parra now owns, it would have to be something very special at this point to replace him.
