Arizona Diamondbacks Fall League Review: Eric Smith

The 2011 Arizona Fall League season has now ended, so it is now time to review just how the Arizona Diamondbacks organizational participants performed.  Next we look at Eric Smith, pitcher.  The 6’3 righty is from the University of Rhode Island.  His current team is Visalia. Let’s take a look at how Smith did in this season’s league.

Stats: 2-0, 5.13 ERA in 13 games

Review: Hitters had a .260 average against him.  Not bad.  The high ERA is a little concerning.  He gave up 11 runs in 19.1 innings.  He struck out 18, walked 13.  Of the 20 hits he gave up, two left the yard.

Outlook: Doesn’t have the best numbers in Visalia either.  Was 5-13 with a 6.35 ERA in 28 starts.  Definitely appears he is nowhere ready to make the next step.
