Join the Venom Strikes Team

Arizona’s 2012 season was underwhelming to some, as the team finished at .500 and in the middle of the pack in the NL West. Now, the Diamondbacks will head into the offseason hoping to retool and rebuild in the hopes to bring a better team to the park next season. Venom Strikes is committed and focused on providing quality coverage on all things D’backs related – news, rumors, insight, and analysis – and our goal is to be part of your daily reading, but we need your help so we’re looking for a few qualified individuals to join the VS team.

Think you’ve got what it takes to help cover the Diamondbacks?

Whether you’re a hardcore fan of the D’backs looking for a hobby or someone aspiring to establish a career in sports writing, Venom Strikes is willing to give you a chance. Prior writing/blogging experience isn’t necessarily required (though it doesn’t hurt), all we really ask is that you’re passionate and knowledgeable about the team. We’re searching for individuals comfortable meeting the following expectations:

> Commit to at least one column a week. More is always welcome.

> Help promote and grow the site by engaging our readers through social media (specifically Twitter and Facebook).

We try to cover all aspects of the organization, so there’s always room to bring someone aboard who’d prefer to cover certain aspects of the team – from the minor leagues to stadium promotions and everything in between. We can’t offer any monetary compensation for our Staff Writer position, but there are a number of other non-monetary benefits to joining the FanSided Network and the Venom Strikes team, including some great exposure for your writing and a growing collection of quality writers to work with.

The site is also in a unique position where we do have an opening at Editor. Our Editor position varies greatly from that of a Staff Writer, with a number of additional expectations, but we do offer Editors a share of site revenue as a result of meeting those responsibilities, some of which include:

> Posting daily (i.e. 30 times per month).

> Manage the site Facebook page and Twitter account to engage our readers and promote the site.

> Help maintain strong communication among the staff and with senior leadership.

> Editors are given the freedom to retain editorial control of the site.

If you are interested in applying or simply interested in learning more, head on over and complete our network’s application. Be sure to let us know what you feel you could bring to the table that would help grow Venom Strikes into one of the best and most complete Diamondbacks sites available. One of our Editorial Directors will be in touch from there.
