For all baseball fans looking for a fix after the World Series, check out the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars game on November 2nd. It will feature 50 of the brightest prospects in the game, all of whom currently are playing in the AFL. Representing the Arizona Diamondbacks will be relief pitchers Jake Barrett and Matt Stites. It seems I can’t mention one of these guys without the other.
Barrett and Stites are heading in opposite directions at the moment. After a rough start, Stites has not allowed a run over his last five appearances, covering five innings. In that span he has surrendered only one hit while walking two and striking out four. After giving up only one run over his first five games, Barrett was lit up for four runs on three hits in 2/3 of an inning in his last outing which was today. He allowed two home runs and two walks.
The guy I feel bad for is Bo Schultz. I know that this game is for higher-end prospects but with the way he is pitching, Schultz deserves an honorable mention. He leads the league in strikeouts with 20 and innings pitched with 18 1/3 with an ERA of 1.42.
The Fall Stars Game will be carried on MLB Network live Saturday, November 2nd at 8 PM EST/5 PM MST.
