Archie Bradley Gets Another Start Today

He’s back and not a moment too soon. Tuffy Gosewisch, out a week because of a calf injury will see action today for the Arizona Diamondbacks. While I am happy Tuffy makes his return, this is more about one of today’s starting pitchers. Archie Bradley makes his second start of the Spring, taking the ball against the Los Angeles Angels in a split squad affair. Bradley, who wowed in his first start, hopes to make manager Kirk Gibson think long and hard about having him begin the season at Triple A Reno.

Bradley will not be facing Mike Trout today as the Angels will be not be sending out their presumed Opening Day lineup. However, he will get to pitch to Albert Pujols and Raul Ibanez in the three and four holes, respectively. With Bronson Arroyo fighting a back issue, Bradley has a chance to start the season in the Arizona rotation. Another solid outing today, in which maybe he can go another inning or two past Monday’s three frames, could go a long way in helping Gibby make up his mind.

Game time is set for 3:05 PM EST, 1:05 PM MST.
