Arizona Diamondbacks’ pitcher Trevor Cahill left today’s game against the Cleveland Indians after 4 2/3 innings with a right leg injury. He was covering first base on a ball hit by Cleveland’s Jason Kipnis and fell to the ground after touching the bag. He was tended to by D’backs’ trainer Ken Crenshaw and left the game under his own power.
Cahill allowed five runs on nine hits during this outing and departed trailing 5-0. He is scheduled to pitch in the D’backs’ second game in Australia. No word on the extent of his injury.
