Kevin Towers, General Manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks has resigned effective immediately. Towers, whose D’backs are off to an 0-3 start after numerous controversial and questionable offseason moves, decided the time was right to step away. It is not known what Towers will be doing although his contract is guaranteed for at least one season beyond 2014. There does not appear to be a job open at the moment with the Major League season having just gotten underway but there is always the possibility he can return to the New York Yankee organization whose GM Brian Cashman is one of KT’s closest friends in the business.
