Diamondbacks-Giants Game 4 Preview: Arroyo Debuts

The Arizona Diamondbacks are hoping to gain a split of their four game series with the San Francisco Giants in today’s afternoon matinee. The Snakes will be sending Bronson Arroyo, making his Diamondbacks’ regular season debut to the mound and will be opposed by Tim Lincecum. Arroyo’s career record against the Giants is much like Tim Hudson‘s record against the D’backs. In his last ten starts vs. San Fran, Arroyo is 5-2 with a 1.66 ERA and two shutouts. On the other hand, Lincecum has struggled recently vs. Arizona going 1-5 with a 6.75 ERA in his last seven starts.  First pitch is scheduled for 12:40 PM.

Today’s Lineup:

1-Gerardo Parra-RF

2-Aaron Hill-2B

3-Paul Goldschmidt-1B

4-Martin Prado-3B

5-Mark Trumbo-LF

6-Chris Owings-SS

7-A.J. Pollock-CF

8-Tuffy Gosewisch-C

9-Arroyo-P

  • This is Gosewisch’s first start of the season. He had a pinch-hitting appearance in Australia
  • Owings and Pollock return to their respective positions after a night off
  • Goldy owns a .500 lifetime average against Lincecum
  • Daniel Hudson threw a bullpen session on Wednesday and could return in July according to Steve Gilbert at mlb.com
