Ten games into the 2014 season and the Dbacks are off to a 2-8 start the worst in franchise history. The pitching has been the obvious problem and should get all the blame for the Dbacks struggles. I saw this on twitter courtesy of @2011MLBASG: “Noooo!!! Trevor Cahill7.90 Randall Delgado11.57 Brandon McCarthy7.82 Bronson Arroyo4.15 Wade Miley4.05 Will Harris13.50 Oliver Perez12.00 Brad Ziegler4.91 Ryan Rowland-Smith 6.23 Addison Reed4.50 Josh Collmenter4.50.” No is right. The Snakes pitching all around from the starters to the pen has been absolutely atrocious. The starters simply are not going deep enough into ballgames and its creating a domino effect. The bullpen is gassed, having to come early into ballgames often in tough situations. The Snakes who led the majors in blown saves last season already have two this year. The bullpen has thrown the second most innings in the majors, and overall the Dbacks pitching staff has the second worst era in the MLB at 6.31, only the Minnesota Twins have a worse era. This has to change if the Dbacks want to win. It has to start tonight with innings eater Bronson Arroyo on the mound. The supposed innings eater didn’t go 5 in his first start at Chase Field and will need to go deep tonight. Eric Chavez makes his first start for the Snakes in the cleanup spot. Tim Lincecum is on the mound for the Giants…dont be surprised if Paul Goldschmidt homers off him.
