Let the good times roll. The Arizona Diamondbacks finally won a game yesterday at Wrigley Field vs. the Chicago Cubs with an improbable, ninth inning comeback. Of course that was tempered a little bit with the news that Mark Trumbo is out with a stress fracture in his foot. Nevertheless, the D’backs will attempt to do today what they have only done once all season: win two games in a row. Those victories came in San Francisco seemingly months ago.
Attempting to do the honors is Mike Bolsinger who is also trying to capture his first Major League win. He has made one relief appearance and one start since being called up from Triple A Reno. The rookie right-hander started against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday and began the game by retiring the first eight batters. Unfortunately, the second time through the order was his undoing and left the game in the fifth inning without recording an out. The Cubs will send former D’back Edwin Jackson to the mound, looking to improve on his 5.40 ERA in four 2014 starts.
With Trumbo being placed on the disabled list, Arizona called up Roger Kieschnick, whom they claimed off waivers from the Giants earlier this month. More morning baseball awaits with game time at 11:20 AM MST. Here is the lineup:
