The Arizona Diamondbacks look to capture their second straight series win today as they wrap up a three game set with the Milwaukee Brewers. Bronson Arroyo will take the mound, hoping to carry the momentum from his last outing. His start against the San Diego Padres on Friday was easily his best performance of the season. He threw seven shutout innings, allowing only three hits and a walk while striking out six. As a long time member of the Cincinnati Reds, Arroyo is no stranger to the Brew Crew. He owns a lifetime record vs. Milwaukee of 15-10 with a 3.67 ERA including a 2-0, 2.28 mark against them in 2013.
Pitching for the Brewers will be Wily Peralta. The 24-year old right-hander has been outstanding so far with a record of 4-1 with a 2.04 ERA. Peralta was brilliant in his last start, throwing eight innings of shutout ball against the Reds, allowing only three hits and two walks while striking out seven. Not one but two former D’backs are in the Brewers’ starting lineup. Lyle Overbay is at first base and Mark Reynolds will be at third.
We have already had one Diamondback make his Major League debut this series. Evan Marshall was the winning pitcher in last night’s contest. Could we see another? Chase Anderson was called up from Double A Mobile and has not pitched since Friday. This would be his normal turn in the Mobile rotation.
First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 AM MST. Here is today’s starting lineup. No Aaron Hill? Why?
