Aaron Hill's Tests are Negative, Not in Lineup Today

Finally, a break (or lack thereof) went the way of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Last night Aaron Hill was hit in the hand by pitch thrown by the Phillies’ Justin De Fratus. He stayed in the game for another inning before being removed in the seventh. Fortunately, X-rays were negative, however, the veteran second baseman will not be in the starting lineup today with Didi Gregorius getting the start at second.

In April 2013, Hill was hit in the left hand with a pitch and ended up missing more than two months of the season. Pitches seem to have a habit of finding the hands of D’backs’ players. A.J. Pollock has missed almost two months with a broken hand after he was hit by a pitch at the end of May.
