In news concerning the Arizona Diamondbacks, Jordan Pacheco was activated from the 15-day disabled list today. He was originally put on the DL in late June because of shoulder tendinitis. Pacheco, who was claimed off waivers from the Colorado Rockies on June 12th, had three hits in eight at-bats for the D’backs before his injury. He is not in today’s starting lineup.
To make room for Pacheco, the Snakes released Nick Evans. On Saturday, it was reported that the outfielder/first baseman had singed a deal with the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan. That turned out to be a bit premature as Evans went out later than night and smacked a pinch-hit, three-run home run. He had six hits, including two home runs, in 22 at-bats with Arizona.
We welcome back Jordan Pacheco and wish Nick Evans the best of luck in Japan or wherever else he decides to land.
