Dbacks Make Another Japanese Deal

Last year it was utilityman Rusty Ryal. This year, welcome relief pitcher Kam Mickolio to the Arizona Diamondbacks game of “Sold To Japan”. The Dbacks sold the reliever to the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. What I’m guessing Mickolio said first was “I just got sold to Japanese Crap.” No, close, but it’s Carp. Just a guess though. Even if he didn’t, I know I would.

Arizona Diamondbacks Make First Moves of Off-Season

So it begins. The cleansing of 2011 and the beginning of 2012 is here. The World Series may still be going on, but the Arizona Diamondbacks are in preparation mode for 2012. The Dbacks made several roster moves on Friday. Not that any of the moves were all that surprising but it shows the Dbacks are wasting no time in getting ready to get the rodeo rolling again.

A Closer Look at the Dbacks Ryan Cook

Fansided’s minor league site, Seedlings to Stars recently took a look at current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Ryan Cook. Cook, who was called up in July from AA Mobile, was up and down after that point between Phoenix and AAA Reno. The piece on Cook talks about his velocity, his pitches, and his contributions.

The piece is pretty much dead on. There is still a lot to find out about Cook, who at times had a great fastball and at times struggled, much of what you’d expect from a young guy who made the move directly to the Majors from AA.
