When I heard last night that the Florida Marlins has optioned one of their most popular players, Logan Morrison, to AAA, I wondered why?  I had to go look at his numbers.  He was hitting .249, with 17 HR and 60 RBI.  Apparently hitting only .230 over the past month though did him in.  So that got me to wondering?  Just how high are the expectations in Florida with the team sitting in last place in the Nationals League East?  The Arizona Diamondbacks offense features several players with worse, much worse numbers and they aren’t going anywhere.

No, we’re not talking about the New York Mets in the literal sense and in this case not even in the metaphorical sense.  Literally, tonight’s Arizona Diamondbacks-Mets game at Chase Field is for the dogs.  It is bring your dog to the game night.  Oh boy, I can’t wait.  I have a few ideas to make it fun for the people who think this is not such a great idea.

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy has something in common with the Philadelphia Phillies Roy Halladay.  They both now have 15 wins to lead the National League.  The Dbacks defeated New York Mets 4-3 at Chase Field to take a two game lead in the National League West over the San Francisco Giants, thanks to their 2-1 loss to the Florida Marlins Friday night.
