Spring Training: Don’t hit the Panic button

Sometimes when there is so much hype surrounding a baseball team, such as there is with the Arizona Diamondbacks, people tend to get skeptical at the first sign of trouble even if it is in spring training before the season has even begun. If anything, the D-backs struggles in spring training is a good sign of things to come.

Turn the Calendar, 21 Days Till the D-backs Hit the Field

At least for the Arizona Diamondbacks pitchers and catchers, there are only 20 days of vacation left. Then, bring on spring training at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale. Can you believe it will be February tomorrow? Time flies. It seems just like yesterday when the D-backs were ousted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS. Now, just under four months later, it’s just three weeks until the D-backs begin their quest to defend their NL West title.

Arizona Diamondbacks Bullpen a Big Key in 2012

Everyone talks about the starting rotation for the Arizona Diamondbacks and rightfully so, however let’s not forget about that bullpen. The back end of that bullpen was a big reason for the Dbacks success in 2011, specifically David Hernandez and closer J.J Putz. Both will need big seasons again to find another National League West Championship in 2012 and hopefully more.
