Even for the National League West Champion Arizona Diamondbacks, there is still something to play for on the last day of the 2011 season. Tonight, it’s all about staying home versus packing for Philadelphia or Milwaukee. If the Dbacks win tonight and the Milwaukee Brewers lose, the Dbacks will be at home this weekend for the start of the playoffs. If the Dbacks win and Brewers win, off on the road the Dbacks go. They are packing their bags too if they lose, no matter what the Brew Crew do.

I watched the bottom of the 10th. Kept the game on. Was starting to fall asleep. The Los Angeles Dodgers had just scored five runs in the top of the 10th inning. Things seemed bleak for the Arizona Diamondbacks. One out. Two outs. Then, lightening struck. Just when we thought we had seen it all. Ryan Roberts, “Tatman”, hit his first career grand slam after the Dbacks had scraped a couple of runs together. A 6-1 deficit and almost defeat turned into a 7-6 victory in a mere few minutes. The Dbacks stay alive for a possibility to gain home field advantage in the first round.
