Time to Talk D’backs MVP

By Scott Allen

Ok, I know what you are asking yourselves….really?  An MVP?  On this team?  The 2010 Arizona Diamondbacks?

Yes really.  I mean it.  With as much negativity surrounding this team on and off the field this season, I thought we should take a look at the strong performers for this team.  Who is this team’s MVP?  Is there someone that stands out to you, that given even the poor 43-69 record of this team, that without his services, this team might be even that much worse than they are now?

I have some candidates in mind.  Chris Young and Kelly Johnson come to mind first.  Adam Laroche, especially lately, come to mind.  Can we consider any pitchers?  Ok, you can stop laughing now.  Seriously though, is there any pitcher you think deserves some kudos for the work he has done? Aaron Heilman?  Sure, he hasn’t been a fireman in his closer role so far, but Juan Gutierrez and Chad Qualls he ain’t.
