Branyan Thrives, Hudson Dives in Dbacks Win

By Scott Allen

Spring is almost over. Get ready for a lot of runs on both ends of Arizona Diamondbacks games.  The Dbacks ended up in another slug fest today, however this one ended up in a 9-8 victory over the Texas Rangers.  The Dbacks have given up 26 runs in their last three wins.  It's going to be a long season.
However Russell Branyan is looking like your first baseman.  He had 5 RBI today, scoring playes including a 7th inning home run and a ninth inning single to give the Dbacks the win. Branyan, a non-roster invitee, looks money to make the roster.  He has made the most of his spring opportunity.

Who was not hot today?  That would be pitcher Daniel Hudson, who has been named as the team's number two starter.  Hudson gave up 7 runs in the 2nd inning alone today.  Not exactly the feel good performance you want just over a week before the season starts.

Bottom line is they found a way to dig out of the hole and win today against a pretty good Rangers team.  I'm ok giving up runs as the Dbacks always end up getting at least one more.
