Hudson Settles Down After Rough Start to Season

By Scott Allen

The first inning. Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Daniel Hudson's nemesis over his first several starts.  Over the pas couple of starts, no problems at all, including his 7-inning performance last evening against the San Diego Padres.

Last night Hudson struck out two Padres hitters in retiring the side in order.  That's something we haven't seen this season.  Hudson also got out of the first unscathed in his last outing on May 1st against the Chicago Cubs, although that outing started with a lead-off double.

Hudson lowered his ERA to 4.47 after last night.  He was at 5.64 just two outings earlier.  He is clearly headed in the right direction.  His next outing will be next weekend against the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The way they've been playing as of late, I see more good things for Hudson on the immediate horizon.
